Cargo Services

Cargo handling oversight, tally and accountancy, supercargo, and cargo surveys for vessels calling at Tema and Takoradi. Independent figures, documented operations, and a single point of accountability for the principal.

Service Overview

Cargo operations are where most of a port call's commercial risk concentrates. Tally errors, supervised loading or discharge undertaken without independent oversight, and statements of facts compiled after the event are recurring sources of dispute on West African calls. Our cargo services exist to remove those risks for owners, charterers, and trading principals operating through Ghanaian ports.

We work as the principal's eyes on the quayside, in the hold, and across the cargo documentation chain — independent of the terminal operator and, where applicable, independent of the appointed ship agent.

Scope of Work

What Our Cargo Services Cover

The operational disciplines we deliver across container, bulk, break-bulk, and project cargo.

Stevedoring Oversight

Liaison with terminal operators and contracted stevedoring companies. Pre-operations briefings, in-shift attendance, and post-operations reporting against the agreed cargo plan and lashing requirements.

Tally & Cargo Accountancy

Independent tally for unitised, bagged, and break-bulk cargo. Cross-checked against bills of lading and the ship's figures, with reconciliation reports issued daily to the principal.

Supercargo Services

Loading and discharge supervision on behalf of owners, charterers, and cargo interests. Stowage planning input, sequence verification, securing inspections, and continuous communication with master and shore.

Cargo Surveys

Draft surveys, hold and tank inspections, on/off-hire surveys, condition surveys, and damage assessments. Reports issued in the principal's preferred format for insurance, charter-party, or commercial use.

Project & Heavy-Lift Handling

Specialised handling for over-dimensional and high-value project cargo. Pre-arrival route surveys, equipment coordination, escort arrangements, and documentation prepared with the local handling contractors.

Statement of Facts & Documentation

Time-stamped statements of facts, notices of readiness, time sheets, and supporting evidence compiled in real time and shared on a daily reporting cadence.
